Overview
John Quam (died 1973; his birth year is not stated in Hougart) was a Zuni silversmith active since the 1950s, working in cluster work and needlepoint. He shared his mark with his wife, Bonnie Quam.
Collector's caution: The mark was shared between John and Bonnie Quam, so a marked piece is not by itself attributable to one hand or the other. Adding to the difficulty, the mark's symbol is garbled in our scan of Hougart's entry — the readable fragment suggests only that it "may be on a plate." Until the printed page is checked, treat the exact form of the Quam mark as unverified.
