Herbert Joe — Navajo/Diné Silversmith
Herbert Joe (born 1956) is a Navajo silversmith known for a broad technical range spanning geometric and floral designs, channel inlay, storyteller work, stamp work, leaf and appliqué in both silver and gold. He is a multiple award winner.
Channel inlay is a signature Navajo technique in which precisely cut stones are fitted flush into recessed silver channels. Storyteller jewelry depicts narrative scenes drawn from Pueblo and broader Southwestern traditions.
