Rosalie Pinto — Zuni Silversmith

Rosalie Pinto worked in mosaic and carved inlay with her husband, Augustine Pinto (1921–2002). Bille Hougart's Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks lists her as "Rosalie Pinto (Zuni)," records that the two shared some stamps, and notes that their pieces may be co-signed with her daughter, Beverly Etsate (Hougart 2022, p. 248).

Theda and Michael Bassman's Zuni Jewelry shows a raised-inlay belt buckle the couple made in 1975, in green snail shell, turquoise, coral, jet, penn shell and gold-lip mother-of-pearl (Bassman and Bassman 2006, p. 31).

Her hallmark

Hougart gives her marks as R P (stylized R) and A. R. P. ZUNI, NM. The A. R. P. stamps are shared with Augustine (Hougart 2022, p. 248), and pieces co-signed with Beverly Etsate carry A.R.P. as well (Hougart 2022, p. 115).
