Patrick Lomawaima — Hopi Silversmith Hallmark
Patrick Lomawaima, a son of Kirkland Lomawaima, learned silversmithing at the Hopi Silvercraft Guild. Margaret Nickelson Wright's Hopi Silver, a register of Hopi smiths and their hallmarks, records him as a member of the Snow clan from Shungopavi who began silverwork in 1965 and was still working when her list was compiled (Wright 2003, p. 82).
His hallmark
Wright prints two dated marks for him, labelled "Snowflake 1965" and "Cloud 1967," and notes that he lost the Snowflake mark and started using the Cloud in 1967. The printed drawings show a square divided into four boxes whose diagonal lines and small triangles form an X-like star, and a half-dome on a rectangle over a row of three small squares (Wright 2003, p. 82).
