According to Bahti (2007, p. 162), Patricia Sice (née Smith) was born in Ganado, Arizona, in 1949; her parents, Howard and Nelle Smith, made jewelry, as did her grandfather, and her brothers Patrick and Edison Smith were accomplished jewelry artists. [1]
According to Bahti (2007, p. 164), Patricia worked in Sice Design from the start, in quality control and some of the design, and it was her suggestion, after seeing a small silver bowl set with a single turquoise at the San Xavier festival, that started Howard's silver bowls. [1]
Speaking to Bahti (2007) about the Central Avenue medallions Howard designed under a 1990 Phoenix Commission on the Arts commission, Patricia Sice explained:
“The designs were all petroglyphs from Arizona except for one with people that was Howard's work”

According to Bahti (2007, p. 165), as of 2007 Patricia and Howard designed and made jewelry together under the Sice Design motto “Surprise the senses, challenge the normal, and change the future.” [1]
