Lolita Natachu — Zuni Inlay Artist

Hallmark namecard for Lolita Natachu -- Zuni silversmith

Overview

Lolita Natachu (Zuni Pueblo) has been active since the 1970s, working in mosaic and channel inlay with sun face and thunderbird designs, and rainbow man imagery — hallmarks of the Zuni inlay tradition. She shares stamps with her husband Fred Natachu. She is the sister of Rolanda Haloo (1956–; Zuni), one of the most recognized contemporary Zuni overlay silversmiths, and is part of the extended Haloo–Natachu Zuni family.

Hougart documents her within the Natachu family cluster (p. 221). Her marks are shared with Fred Natachu, consistent with the Zuni co-marking tradition.

“FL (Frank L. Natachu, Fred & Lolita Natachu)”
— Schaaf (2003), p. 209 [1]

Schaaf (2003) entered her as

“Lolita Natachu (Lolita Haloo)”
