Janet Amesoli — Zuni Silversmith
Janet Amesoli — Zuni Silversmith
Janet Amesoli (Zuni) is the daughter of Madeline Beyuka (1935–; Zuni) and the sister of Philbert (Bert) Beyuka and Jonathan Beyuka. She is part of the Beyuka family — one of the significant documented Zuni silversmithing and inlay lineages of the twentieth century.
Her mother Madeline Beyuka is a mosaic inlay maker whose work spans inlay jewelry, corn maiden figures, and bolos. Madeline Beyuka is the former wife of Edward Beyuka, a major Zuni silversmith. Her siblings include Philbert (Bert) Beyuka (Zuni), who works in mosaic jewelry, and Jonathan Beyuka (Zuni), who collaborated with his late father Edward Beyuka. Madeline Beyuka is also the sister of Angela Cellicion (Zuni). For the family's broader profile, see Madeline Beyuka and Jonathan Beyuka.
Hougart documents Janet Amesoli in the context of Madeline Beyuka's family listing. A distinct hallmark for Janet Amesoli is not separately enumerated in the fifth edition.
