Overview

Emery Ohmsatte (born 1958) is a Zuni artist active since the 1980s, working in mosaic inlay and lapidary in silver and gold, including faceted inlaid gemstones and textured surfaces. He is the son of Berdie and Silas Ohmsatte, and a SWAIA Fellow.

His parents Silas and Berdie Ohmsatte appear in our reference books as inlay artists who shared "S & B" marks between them; Emery’s own conjoined "E O" mark is distinct from theirs.

Schaaf (2003, p. 249) recorded Emery Ohmsatte as Zuni, active from the 1980s in gold, silver and mosaic inlay jewelry, a son of Silas and Bertie Ohmsatte, using EO joined with a Sunface outline as his hallmark, with prizes for rings and sets at Indian Market in 1990 and a SWAIA Fellowship. [1]
