Clarence Lomayestewa — Hopi Silversmith Hallmark
Clarence Lomayestewa passed his silversmithing tools on to his brothers, Mark and McBride. Margaret Nickelson Wright's Hopi Silver, a register of Hopi smiths and their hallmarks, records him as a member of the Snow clan from Shungopavi who began silverwork in 1948 under the G.I. Bill and worked until 1964 (Wright 2003, p. 79).
His hallmark
Wright labels his mark "Killdeer Track (Patsrokuku)." The printed drawing shows a bird track: three thin prongs spreading at the top and joining into one long straight stem (Wright 2003, p. 79).
