Bueford Dawahoya — Hopi Silversmith Hallmark
Bueford Dawahoya worked first with his brother, Bernard Dawahoya. Margaret Nickelson Wright's Hopi Silver, a register of Hopi smiths and their hallmarks, records him as a member of the Snow clan from Shungopavi who began silverwork in the 1960s and was still working when her list was compiled; she also gives the spellings Beauford and Beuford (Wright 2003, p. 89).
His hallmark
Wright prints two marks for him: one without a label, and one labelled "Snow Cloud 1990s." The printed drawings show a tall rounded arch enclosing two small half-domes over three long rounded legs, and a round-topped egg shape enclosing two small half-domes over a line, above three rounded lobes (Wright 2003, p. 89).
