Vinton Selina — Hopi Silversmith
Vinton Selina began silverwork at Shungopavi in 1987, according to Margaret Nickelson Wright's Hopi Silver, a register of Hopi smiths and their hallmarks, (Wright 2003, p. 99).
Theda Bassman's The Beauty of Hopi Jewelry shows a set of his tie tacks from 1992, among them a bear paw and water designs (Bassman 1993, p. 42). Bille Hougart's Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks lists him as Hopi, active since the 1980s (Hougart 2022, p. 283).
His hallmark
Wright labels his mark "Snow Balls", three balls, and shows a four-ball version dated 1995 (Wright 2003, p. 99). Hougart describes it as snow balls, three or four (Hougart 2022, p. 283).
