Theresa Waseta — Zuni Silversmith

Theresa Waseta is a Zuni mosaic inlay jeweler. Gregory Schaaf's American Indian Jewelry I lists Theresa Waseta as Zuni, active from 1965 in mosaic and engraved inlay jewelry, making bracelets, earrings, necklaces and rings, with songbirds among the favorite designs (Schaaf 2003, p. 321). Bille Hougart's Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks lists Theresa Waseta as Zuni, active since the 1960s in mosaic inlay (Hougart 2022, p. 332).

Theda and Michael Bassman's Zuni Jewelry includes an inlay pendant by Theresa Waseta in turquoise, coral, jet and mother-of-pearl among pendants made in 1991 (Bassman and Bassman 2006, p. 59).

Hallmark

Schaaf records an engraved signature, T. Waseta (Schaaf 2003, p. 321); Hougart gives Waseta and Theresa Waseta, both in etched script (Hougart 2022, p. 332).
