Phillip Honanie — Hopi Silversmith Hallmark
Phillip Honanie learned silversmithing at Hopicrafts. Margaret Nickelson Wright's Hopi Silver, a register of Hopi smiths and their hallmarks, records Phillip Honanie as a member of the Bear clan from Shungopavi who began silverwork in 1967 and was still working when her list was compiled (Wright 2003, p. 83).
The hallmark
Wright labels the mark "Friendship Mark." The printed drawing shows two open curved hooks interlocking: a small C-curve at the upper left hooked into a larger reversed C at the lower right (Wright 2003, p. 83).
