Lynol Yellowhorse — Navajo Silversmith

Lynol Yellowhorse was a Navajo inlay jeweler who worked in mosaic and in channel. Bille Hougart's Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks lists him as Navajo, 1962 to 2003, and names him the brother of Tonya June Rafael (Hougart 2022, p. 349).

Paula A. Baxter's Encyclopedia of Native American Jewelry names him among the Navajo artists who entered the fine-art jewelry field, many of them working in inlay in rich colors (Baxter 2000, p. 118). Sheila Tryk's Santa Fe Indian Market shows inlay bracelets of his as evidence of "the ever-changing directions of Navajo artists" (Tryk 1993, p. 71).

His hallmark

Hougart gives his mark as his name, Lynol Yellowhorse, in script (Hougart 2022, p. 349).
