Lorenzo Coriz — Kewa Silversmith
Lorenzo Coriz (born 1946) is a Kewa (Santo Domingo Pueblo) silversmith active since the 1970s. The Hougart record documents his work in nugget work and claw- and rope-appliqué — techniques that involve attaching three-dimensional silver elements such as twisted rope wire and shaped claw forms onto the surface of a piece.
Lorenzo Coriz is the father of Aaron Coriz. His career spans several decades of Kewa silversmithing, and his use of appliqué techniques reflects a tradition of surface ornamentation associated with Santo Domingo jewelry makers.

Schaaf (2003, p. 123), who entered him as Lorenzo B. Coriz, recorded him as Santo Domingo, born in 1946, a son of Santiago Leo Coriz and Lupe Tenorio Coriz, educated at the Institute of American Indian Arts and working as an electronic technician, and living in Albuquerque as of 2003; his technique was hand-tooled carving of stones, with animals and insects as his favorite designs. Schaaf (2003, p. 123) named his children as Aaron, Clinton, Benjamin and Matoka Brokeshoulder and listed Aaron Brokeshoulder as his student; Lorenzo told Schaaf that he expressed himself through art of animals and vegetation and the beauty of the earth. [1]

I notice the books give his son different surnames. Hougart calls him the father of Aaron Coriz, while Schaaf's 2003 entry names his children with the surname Brokeshoulder and lists Aaron Brokeshoulder as his student. I show both as printed.
