Laura Willie

Biography by Mateo James

Laura Willie — Navajo silversmith hallmark namecard

Overview

Hougart's entry for Laura Willie is a single line — it records that she is Navajo and that her mark is LAW, and nothing more. We publish it because the mark is real and collectors will meet it. No dates, no working period, no style notes are documented; we won't invent them.

The Mark

"Laura Willie (Navajo). Mark: LAW"
— Hougart, Bille. Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks, 5th ed. (2022).

The marks as documented in Hougart's hallmark reference: LAW.
