Jason Livingston is a Navajo silversmith born in 1976, documented in Hougart within one of the most prominent silversmithing families in the contemporary Navajo tradition. His recorded mark is a single initial J.
Jason is the son of Jacob (Jake) Livingston (1946–; Navajo/Zuni) — born Jacob Haloo, Jr. — and the brother of Jay Livingston (1979–). Their father Jake is the 1988 IACA Artist of the Year and a multiple award winner celebrated for spinner jewelry, overlay, inlay, and distinctive bird motifs. Jake's marks include J L, JAKE L. (since 1976), J–L LIVINGSTON, and J. I. LIVINGSTON (co-signed with his wife Irene Owens).
The extended Livingston family documented in Hougart includes at least seven silversmiths: Ben Livingston (active 1970s), Darren Livingston (Jake's son, cast and cluster work, spiderweb motifs), Jason, Jay, Lorenzo Livingston (active 1970s, Mark: LL), Mary Livingston (mosaic or carved inlay), and Phil Livingston (1976–; channel and mosaic inlay, pictorial, silver sculptures).
