Harvey Quanimptewa, Jr. — Hopi Silversmith
Harvey Quanimptewa, Jr. worked pottery designs into silver. Theda Bassman's The Beauty of Hopi Jewelry shows a run of his watch bands with pottery, water-wave, rain-and-cloud and bird designs (Bassman 1993, p. 44).
Margaret Nickelson Wright's Hopi Silver, a register of Hopi smiths and their hallmarks, records that he learned at the Guild, began silverwork at Mishongnovi in 1976, and died in 1993 (Wright 2003, p. 92). Bille Hougart's Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks lists him as Hopi, 1956 to 1993, working in overlay, sometimes with set stones (Hougart 2022, p. 260).
