Harold Lomayaktewa — Hopi Silversmith
Harold Lomayaktewa learned at the Guild and began silverwork at Shungopavi in 1986, according to Margaret Nickelson Wright's Hopi Silver, a register of Hopi smiths and their hallmarks, (Wright 2003, p. 97).
Theda Bassman's The Beauty of Hopi Jewelry shows a bracelet and a Ranger belt buckle he made in 1992 (Bassman 1993, p. 36), and a rain-drop design with three coral stones from the same year (Bassman 1993, p. 45). Bille Hougart's Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks lists him as Hopi, working in overlay in silver and gold, and active since the 1980s (Hougart 2022, p. 193).
His hallmark
Wright labels his mark "Star Priest" (Wright 2003, p. 97). Hougart gives it as "A Star Priest" (Hougart 2022, p. 193).
