The marks
The mark shown above is photographed directly on an authenticated piece from the T.Skies gallery — this is Geraldine Yazzie's actual stamp, not a recreation. Two marks are documented for her:
- Geraldine Yazzie — a cursive script signature stamp reading her full name on two lines, with a separate stamped Sterling mark above it, struck on the reverse of the piece.
- GY — an initials mark, documented as a variation of her full-name signature.
Collector's caution — read before you attribute.
Several unrelated silversmiths share the "G. Yazzie" initials, and more than one distinct "G. Yazzie" mark is documented in the reference literature. A GY-stamped piece alone is not proof of Geraldine's hand — the full-name script signature shown above is the reliable attribution. When in doubt, compare against the photographed stamp on this page.
