Faron Yowytewa — Hopi Silversmith
Faron Yowytewa learned from Earl Yowytewa and began silverwork at Hotevilla in 1994, according to Margaret Nickelson Wright's Hopi Silver, a register of Hopi smiths and their hallmarks (Wright 2003, p. 110).
Bille Hougart's Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks lists him as "Faron Yowytewa (Hopi)" and describes his work as "Overlay. Squash blossom necklaces" (Hougart 2022, p. 351).
His hallmark
Hougart gives his marks as "F Y; Yowytewa (script)" (Hougart 2022, p. 351). Wright shows the same initials and script name (Wright 2003, p. 110).
