Emerson H. Quannie — Hopi Silversmith Hallmark
Emerson H. Quannie learned silversmithing from Lawrence Saufkie. Margaret Nickelson Wright's Hopi Silver, a register of Hopi smiths and their hallmarks, records Emerson H. Quannie as a member of the Water (Patki) clan from Kykotsmovi who began silverwork in 1968 (Wright 2003, p. 83).
The hallmark
Wright labels the mark "Rain Cloud." The printed drawing shows three overlapping half-dome arches on a band, with a fringe of short vertical lines hanging below (Wright 2003, p. 83).
