Edward Lomahongva — Hopi Silversmith
Edward Lomahongva learned at Hopicrafts, Margaret Nickelson Wright's Hopi Silver, a register of Hopi smiths and their hallmarks, records, and began silverwork at Oraibi in 1979 (Wright 2003, p. 93).
Theda Bassman's The Beauty of Hopi Jewelry shows a corn design of his among a group of rings (Bassman 1993, p. 30) and a pendant he made in 1992 (Bassman 1993, p. 35). Bille Hougart's Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks lists him as Hopi, working in overlay and active since the 1970s (Hougart 2022, p. 191).
His hallmark
Wright labels his mark "Road Runner" (Wright 2003, p. 93). Hougart gives his marks as "E. L.; a roadrunner" (Hougart 2022, p. 191).
