Dwayne Lomayestewa is a Hopi silversmith active since the 1980s, working in the overlay tradition that defines Hopi silver craft. He is a member of the extended Lomayestewa family, one of the most documented silversmithing dynasties in Hopi silverwork. The family includes Clarence Lomayestewa (active late 1940s–; Hopi Guild class of 1947–1949), Mark Lomayestewa (1936–1995), McBride Lomayestewa (1932–2002), Arthur Lomayestewa, Jessica Lomayestewa, Kendrick Lomayestewa, Lendrick Lomayestewa, Marcus Lomayestewa, Stetson Lomayestewa, and Fernanda Lomayestewa — making Dwayne part of a multi-generational overlay tradition of considerable depth.
