Delbert Gordon

Delbert Gordon — Navajo silversmith hallmark namecard

Hallmark documented in: Hougart, art-amerindien.com. Rendered from the documented mark, not a photograph.

Overview

Delbert Gordon (b. 1955) is a Navajo silversmith active since the 1970s. Hougart documents his work as file work and shadow box, in traditional forms — concho belts, bracelets, bolos. Derrick Gordon is documented as his nephew.

Collector's caution: The mark line in Hougart's entry is partially garbled in our scan. What can be read: a mark ending in "Gordon" whose leading portion is unreadable, and "D Gordon," where the D is part of a spur on one mark. Until the unreadable portion is checked against the printed page, treat any Gordon-family stamp attribution with corresponding care.
