Clayton Panteah — Zuni Silversmith

Clayton Panteah set the stones on a bracelet that took first prize at Gallup. Theda Bassman's The Beauty of Navajo Jewelry shows the piece, in "Channel and mosaic inlay with sugilite, lapis lazuli, angel coral and turquoise," and records: "Stones were set by Clayton Panteah (Zuni) and the silverwork is by James Nez. This bracelet won First Prize at the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial in Gallup, New Mexico in 1989" (Bassman 1997, p. 19).

Bille Hougart's Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks lists him as "Clayton Panteah (Zuni). A maker of modern mosaic inlay" (Hougart 2022, p. 236).
