Alfred Chavez — Navajo/Diné Silversmith
Alfred Chavez is a Navajo silversmith. The Hougart record places him in the "Chavez" cluster alongside other members of the extended Chavez family active in Southwestern silversmithing. Hougart's hallmark reference associates his mark with an "A. C." stamp variant and situates him adjacent to Ben Chavez, Bernadine Chavez, and Elroy Chavez — indicating a family workshop tradition. Bernadine Chavez reportedly shares a stamp with her husband Elroy Chavez; Alfred's entry appears at the head of this family grouping, suggesting he may be an elder relative.
