Over the next few decades the claim was mined intensely, and produced large amounts of high quality stones. The Number 8 turquoise mine produced some of the largest and most beautiful nuggets known to collectors and experts today. One of the largest nuggets ever found, over 150 lbs, is on display at the Albuquerque Turquoise Museum.
